Esophagus Cancer Survival

AN IN-DEPTH INFORMATION RESOURCE FOR ESOPHAGEAL CANCER

Glenn is now OFFICIALLY an esophagus cancer survivor!

As of 7th August 2008, having passed the 5 year mark with no sign of cancer, Glenn has now been pronounced "officially cured". Click here for the medical evidence.

And this is where the story began......On the 15th August, 2003 he was diagnosed with an “oesophageal carcinoma”. (See photo of the actual tumour to the right.) His doctor’s dire prognosis, comments of “this is the type of esophageal cancer you don’t want” and various other frightening statistics did nothing to comfort us at all. Furthermore the treatment regime we were offered (including removal of the esophagus) came without any high expectancy of success, much less any real quality of life for whatever future there may be!

But it did inspire us to look for alternatives, which resulted in Glenn rejecting the option of surgery and opting for a nutritional apporach. The result? An endoscopy just eleven months later showed he was completely cancer free.

Obviously this was a direct result of the treatment options we decided on after considering an enormous amount of researched information. Once he had recovered, we were continually asked where we had found what we needed. As we had lost hours of our lives tracking down information, we realised there was a need to bring together as much information as possible in one place.

Also, unfortunately our research has led us to believe that most information is very clearly divided into two camps – medical and alternative. Even more unfortunately, there seems to be an almost adversarial relationship between the two approaches. Our experience shows that the best approach is to combine factors from each.

However the first step is to throroughly understand what you are dealing with, hence our mission to provide an in-depth information resource for esophagus cancer.

A diagnosis of cancer could be the most frightening thing you will ever incur. We hope that by sharing our experience and this continually updated information resource with you, that you may find both support and comfort during what we know from personal experience, is a most difficult time.

With our very best wishes for good health for both you and your loved ones,

Marilyn & Glenn

PS Glenn's 5 year blood tests and endoscopy were "all clear" allowing his Gastroenterologist to officially pronounce him cured. Click here for the medical evidence.
